From Guildford – Glass Repair apprentice
I have been in the business for over a decade and have had the opportunity to train and mentor many apprentices over the years.
One of my most recent apprentices, Tom, has been with me for the past three years. When he first started, he was a bit green around the edges and had a lot to learn about the ins and outs of the glass repair industry.
But with time and patience, Tom has grown into a highly skilled and competent glazier. I couldn’t be more proud of the progress he has made.
During his apprenticeship, Tom had many funny moments, one of which was when we were called to fix a broken window at a local football club. Tom, being a big football fan, was over the moon at the prospect of getting inside the stadium. He was so excited that he forgot to bring the right tools and we had to improvise with a hammer and a chisel. It was a memorable moment and we still laugh about it today.
And finally, there was the time when we were called out to fix a window in a local school. Tom was so focused on getting the job done that he didn’t notice the school bell ringing and ended up getting locked inside the school. We had to wait for the janitor to come and let him out. Tom’s gave us a few laughs through the years.
Despite these funny moments, Tom is now a very competent glazier and I am very happy with the work he does. He’s been able to handle all types of jobs, from simple repairs to full window replacements. He is particularly skilled at double glazing repairs and installations, which is a service that we offer to our customers in Guildford.
I firmly believe that apprenticeships are essential for anyone looking to enter the glass repair industry. Not only do they provide hands-on experience, but they also give individuals the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals like myself. I’m proud to have played a part in Tom’s development and I’m confident that he will have a successful career as a glazier.
Apprentice Glaziers Guildford
One of my previous apprentices, Stephen, was particularly challenged when it came to measurements. He would constantly mix up inches and centimeters and it caused a few mishaps on the job. Of course Stephen improved over time
One of Stephen’s most memorable jobs was when he was called out to upgrade a customers house with energy-efficient upvc windows. The customer was so pleased with Stephen’s work that they even wrote a letter of recommendation to our company praising his work. They mentioned how much warmer and quieter their house was after Stephen’s installation and how much they appreciated his attention to detail. Stephen was so proud of his work and it was a great moment for him and for our company
If you are looking for an apprenticeship or are an experienced glazier give me a call and we can discuss opportunities!
